If I were her....
2007.04.17.Tue / 22:53
CORRECTED
My coworker was supposed to go on a business trip today. He had an appointment at another company at three o'clock. But the appointment was postponed.
An office worker had the message and she called the coworker's cell phone. But he didn't answer the phone, so the office worker left a message.
The coworker didn't call her back beyond noon. He must not realize the message and was going to the company. If I were her, I will call him again and again.
But she was responsible for contacting him. If I tried to call him, it will get on her nerves. I didn't say anything. He heard the message after he arrived at the company. I feel bad for him...

find a car with security service.
2007.04.11.Wed / 20:23
CORRECTED
My father's truck was stolen years ago. It was hard to recover from the loss. Since then he took out vehicle insurance against theft and also uses a security service.
He can find his car by using the security service. He was given an ID number and URL. When he inputted the details into his PC, a map showed where his car was. It was great!

"Please, not call me Sensei."
2007.04.09.Mon / 23:04
CORRECTED
"Sensei" is a title for respected people in Japan such as: teachers, doctors or politicians. Some members of my company are called `Sensei`. Two employees joined our team last April. One of them is in his 30's and the other is in his 50's. The younger of the pair is better at his job than the more senior guy. From their job performance, we should call them Sensei, but the younger one asked us to call him by his first name.
Job titles are a sensitive issue.

Hachiko statue was stolen!
2007.04.06.Fri / 21:36
CORRECTED
Did you hear the news about the Hachiko dog statue? The statue was built in memory of a dog and his master.
The dog loved and trusted his master very much. The dog went to Shibuya station with his master to see him off every morning. Then the dog returned to meet the master every evening. One day, the master died at his office suddenly. The dog couldn't understand, so he kept going to the station to wait for his master every day until the dog died. Many Japanese like this beautiful story.
Therefore, I was sad when I heard news that the statue was stolen by thieves. A student talked about it in a free conversation lesson. We had an exciting discussion.
The purpose of the thieves may be the value of the metal.
Why did nobody report about it to police. etc..??
Then I knew that the story was a lie written by Japan Times for April fools day!
I believed about it nearly one week. They got me!

during from work
2007.03.30.Fri / 12:43
CORRECTED
I have been reading English books since last summer. I was supposed to read one book every week. I had done it sometimes, but sometimes I had not. However, I had read three books this week, because I started to go to work by train. I could read them on the train. I searched for information on web auction site last summer. Then I expected that I would be able to sell English books the half price I bought. However, I searched it recently again. And I knew the situation had changed. They are very cheap now.

I don’t why I have never read any of her books. “Woman of Mystery” is her biography. It shows how she became a popular writer and why she had two husbands. Now I would like to read her book.

Tony was the oldest boy in a poor family. He was quiet and slow, but he was happy. He wasn't good at studying, not good at playing any sports, not good at doing anything.
But he liked music class and the teacher.
Almost of his friends were poor too. Tony had to find a job when he was 13 years old. He started to work at a farm.
One day Tony found a piano in a farmer's building, he tried to play it. He had never learned any music instruments, but he could play great music.
Everybody around him were kind, he was too poor to learn music. However the farmer paid the cost, so he could entered in a competition.

CORRECTED
As a child he wasn’t very lucky as he could not eat many foods,
but he never complained about it. That was why everybody loved him.
When he played the piano at a competition, he gave thanks to his
first teacher. I was crying when I read the words on the page. It
was the first time that I have cried when reading an English book.

This book was boring for me. I spent almost two weeks for reading it. I prefer exciting books like suspense and adventure for extencive reading.
