We enjoyed tasting sake.
2007.10.25.Thu / 20:39
My husband and I visited a liquor shop in Tokyo Station Mall last weekend.
The shop was not so big but their selection was unique.
By the way, do you think it's difficult to choose unknown liquor from only the label? But at the shop, we can taste a lot of wine or whiskey! (It's not free, but only few hundreds yen.)
The shop was like a candy store for us.

This is a phot of the liquor shop.

Actually, I am kidding :P

This is my shelf for alcohol!

These are last photos of Malta, Mdina and Blue Lagoon. Both of them are very famous as sightseeing places and I went there for school activity.
The school offered us these short trips everyday, usually the fee are cheap and they pick us up at the school gate after class. School activity was very convenient.

Mdina was an old capital. In the prosperous time, the city was attacked by pirates many times.
The citizens builded their house with no windows in the first floor and made the city like a maze for defense from the pirates.
The city was destroyed by an earthquake. Many citizens moved to new capital city Valletta and now Mdina is called Silent City.

The other day, I went to Blue Lagoon by a motorboat. The view was remarkable but I prefer something old, like Mdina.

Malta is a small island and I went to beaches many times.
I hadn't been to Japanese beaches in years, because beaches near Tokyo were very busy with young people.

This was St.George's Bay at night and I could walk here in only 10 minutes.
Many of beaches in Malta were not sand but rock, so unfortunately this beach was busy in daytime. So my friends and I didn't swim but had beer at a beach side cafe.

The main transport was buses.
I liked these cute buses.
When we want to go to unknown place, we have to ask someone about the way. If we didn't make sure we'll go to strange place.
It is kind of adventure, isn't it?

The thing I was most impressed in Malta was the buildings.
Nowadays, many Japanese live in concrete buildings. They are simple and modern but something blunt.

This is an apartment house near my school in Malta.
The wall were off-white stone and the windows were round. They gave me warm and lovely impression.

These are photos of capital city Valletta.
According to a guide book, the city is very busy with tourists, so I visited there early morning.
I walked through the city from the gate to beach then I went back to the gate again among the beach. I had beer at Upper Barracca Gardens. The view was great! I spend two hours there but I forgot to take the photos.

By the way, I met my old mate in Valletta.

His name was... Karimero!

Don't to be shy.
2007.10.04.Thu / 14:35
I live in just behind of the school. There is a swimming pool in the school and many students gather around the pool.
I unpacked my luggage, called to Japan, then I went to the pool.
I was going to stay here only one week and I made my mind not to be shy.

Many students were young European, they got together and spoke their language.
I saw some students with PC or books, but I didn't want to disturb them.
Hum... Do I have to spend the 1st day alone?
A Turkish man saw me was alone and beckon to me. I was really glad.
He was very cheerful and open mind. We had a conversation and he asked me to have dinner in a group. Why not!

In Japan, I'm not outgoing. I usually wait someone to ask me, but I said "Hi!" to strangers here.
After that everything was going to be all right.
I'm always happy, always smile!

The way to Marta.
2007.10.02.Tue / 00:45
There weren't any direct flight from Japan to Malta, and I chose transfer at Dubai. I also have to transfer at Osaka but it was the only way I don't need spend a night at hotel for waiting a plane.

I left from Tokyo Haneda airport at 20:45 then I arrived at Osaka Kanku at 22:00. I was worried about changing plane but it was very easy because it was the last flight and every passenger was on the way to Dubai.
The plane got off on the midnight and flew from east to west, therefore I saw only stars and night view. The flight was very smooth, the meal and service were nice.
About at 3 a.m, (Japan time) seat belt sign was come on althought the plane gave us any shock. I wondered why, then I saw lightning near us. It probably dangerous but I thought it was beautiful.

It took 10 hours and half to Dubai and we arrived there at 4:00 a,m (Dubai time). I stayed there only for waiting the next flight and it was only 4 hours. Even that I found some culture difference between Japanese and Arabian people.
I think they don't have a rule that making a line while waiting, they don't care other passengers, staffs gave us no smile.
When I arrived Dubai I could see only lights. You know, in Japan, shops hang on colorful signboards, such as red, blue and green. But in Dubai most of road light were brownish orange and most of houses and shops were white. It was beautiful.
It wasn't until I depart from Dubai that I realized it was desert. Every view that I saw from the window were different to Japan. When I was at the air port I thought I wouldn't come here again, but I am interested in the desert country now.

It took 7 hours from Dubai to Malta. The plane stopped at Cyprus and some passenger got off and someone get on the plane.
I know the information before I left from Japan, even so, I was worried if I had to get it off.

I am writeing this article in my 4th day.
I spend 20 hours in planes for only one week holiday, but I think it was great choice coming to Malta.
