The top of washing machine is always messy.
2008.02.28.Thu / 15:06
I grew up in a big familly but after I had married it had become three member. So my parents had given us their dining table with six chairs.
We hadn't needed such a big table either, but I hadn't been able to throw it away because it was valued and my parents believed we had been glad having it.
Some years later, we found a familly who wanted the table by chance and we bought a new one with two chairs.
Since then we can use the room spaciously.
However, we can't find any place for putting on jeans and bags. We had put them on the extra chairs but now we put them on the washing machine.
Where do you put on them? Any idea?

Bear with me.
2008.02.23.Sat / 11:02
I had received an e-mail from my English teacher. He was going to be late the lesson because the train had temporally stopped.
I stared in surprise what he wrote the last, "Bear with me."

Bear??

_01.jpg

I had heard some news that many bears came to town for foods. A bear made the train stopped and stayed with him!

hahaha.
Anyway, I hadn't known the meaning and after he arrived I asked him that.
"Bear with me" means "endure me".
Aha, I was relieved he hadn't been caught by a bear.

Where is the DVD?
2008.02.22.Fri / 20:09
I'm a member of a postal-rental DVDs service, Posren. I draw up my wish list on their web site. I don't need to go to a rental shop any more. Two DVDs are sent house after we return the previous one.
If the DVDs, the top and the second on my list are not arrival they'll send me the third one.
By the way, I've been seeing a sitcom Friends and I saw the final season's the second two months ago. I've been waiting the next one since then.
We sometimes have to wait the newest one, but it isn't.
We can't rent new DVDs until we send back everything. We have to pay monthly fee but Posren doesn't set the deadline.
So the customer who has been renting Friend wouldn't make haste to return it.
Don't you have the DVD? I'm waiting!

The Great Gatsby
2008.02.19.Tue / 12:03
【It's being corrected.】
I read The Great Gatsby, written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. This book is one of the greatest book I've ever read.
Many people say Haruki Murakami is one of the greatest authors not only in Japan but also in the world. I read some his books but I couldn't have empathy for them. The Great Gatsby is well known as translated by him. This book is also given high estimation but I was not sure if I like this book.

This is the story.
As I read the first half of the book I didn't have sympathy to anyone. Gatsby was persistent, many of them were having love affair, the only one who seemed to be honest was Nick but even him led Daisy to make an love affair.
Gatsby and Daisy fell in love but he was forced to a war. During his absence she married to another rich man. Gatsby desperately earned money to be rich and waited her to come back. He built a luxury house across the sea from her house and held parties every week. At last they met again and she said she had been loving him. However, when he beleaguered by her fault she betrayed him and he was killed. When he was alive many people followed him for his money but in his funeral day nobody came.
I wanted to blame Daisy and his followers. Comparison with Gastby's honesty how dishonest they were.
But on the other view, if Gatsby didn't go to the war she would have married him. She was also a victim of the war.
This book was full of emptiness and gloom.

The resolution of the Yamamoto-san problem.
2008.02.18.Mon / 11:31
I had often received wrong calls for Yamamoto-san (fictitious name) for years.
Those calls always had come from the same area code as mine and they sometimes asked me if I was Yamamoto-san who had a child in an elementary school in the same city.
I had thought that they had wrong phone-list so I had asked the caller to correct it, but they hadn't.
I received the wrong call recently and I asked the correction again.
I received another call at the short time later. The caller said that she was the organizer of the phone list and she called me to apologize.
I don't know why it spent years for this small problem but it's resolved at lest!

A picture of eggs.
2008.02.15.Fri / 14:56

This is a picture of eggs. Do you find any special on it?
You would say, "The color are not red, they are not as big as goose eggs, they are really normal four eggs."
No, they are not four eggs. I cracked TWO eggs. There were two yolks in each egg, therefore you can see four egg yolks.
It was kind of lucky, although that was too many calories.

We always had rain.
2008.02.11.Mon / 14:29
One of my friends who lives in Hong-kong comes back at this time every year, the Chinese New Year holidays and we and another friend meet up.
However, the weather forecast had said it's going to be snowy. Not again!
We hadn't meet up in good weather, we always had rain, storm and once the train stopped by an earthquake!

There is a Japanese word, 雨女. It means rain woman, when the lady plans to go outside it will always rain. We blame someone as a rain woman because the rain would cause by the person's bad behavior.
Actually, I don't believe in this kind of superstition but calling others as a rain woman is fun.

It was a very cold day but fortunately it was spatter of snow. We enjoyed walking around Asakusa and drinking.
Thank you for asking me out. I look forward to see you next year.

Women-only tarin.
2008.02.06.Wed / 21:59
【It's being corrected.】
Commuter trains, especially around Tokyo are very crowded as called "Killer Trains".
The staff stands on the platform to push their passengers into the train.
We sometimes hurt by stepped on feet or pushed against the wall. Groping is also a big problem in the crowded train.

The train company try to solve these problems. For example, they increase the number of commuter trains and sale discount pass which can't use in the most crowded time.
The women-only train is one of the idea for protecting women from gropers.

I took a women-only train this morning. When I hold the strap I saw a middle age man was sitting near me. Maybe he didn't realize that he couldn't take the train when he sit there.
He pretended to read a book but he had been glancing over others' faces.
The every passenger who rode into the train was women and everybody watched him.
How did he feel?

Sukiyaki
2008.02.04.Mon / 16:21
My husband went shopping although it snowed yesterday.
He kindly offered to buy some foods for dinner. He rarely buys foods by himself, so I suggested to eat Oden because it would be easy to image the ingredients.
In the evening, he called me and said he got craving for Sukiyaki.
I gave the name of the ingredients and added I usually buy 200g of beaf. Actually, I usually buy 300g but I was sure if I say it's 300g he will buy 400g.
And then my imagination was correct, he bought 330g of beaf.
However, I had forgotten telling him of the cost.
"Ok.. It's a special day" I mumbled in my mind.
And we enjoyed the expensive Sukiyaki.

Waiting a bus on a guide.
2008.02.03.Sun / 13:43
Japanese usually wait in a line at stations or restaurants.
There is a thing what I wonder if we should change the rule.
This is about the yellow painted guide for blind people.
We tend to wait in a line along something straight like walls. The guide is one of them. We wait a bus on the guide at a bus stop. I have seen a blind person who was walking along the guide hit the passenger the end of the line.
Shouldn't we give the way to those people?

My assume.
2008.02.01.Fri / 12:07
When I had a cup of coffee at a cafe, I almost slipped and dropped the cup over my thighs.
I gazed the cup and understood. The handle was beautiful curve but not loop.
I had believed that cups' handles must be circle. But it was just my assume assumption but not common sense.
